When it occurs in the pancreas, it is known as a pancreatic cyst. These cysts can be non-neoplastic or benign or malignant neoplastic. Most cysts are non-neoplastic pseudocysts, but some are neoplastic masses. Of these neoplasms, some types can be benign, non-cancerous and others malignant. Simple liver cysts do not malignant. Usually, they do not produce any symptoms, although very rarely, especially larger cysts can cause compression of structures.
